- Consider alternate methods, technologies, equipment, systems, and staffing
- Prepare facility program
- Prepare economic analyses of options with costs and benefits
- Prepare operational layout and building design drawings
- Prepare specifications for new facilities, equipment and systems
- Obtain quotes and coordinate procurement and installations
- Manage projects and inspect construction and installations
- Plan and coordinate moving and start-up
- Follow up to ensure a successful operation
